Since its dedication on September 24, 1961, the Carmichael
Chapel has been holy ground for Shallowford Presbyterian Church. It was the
site of Shallowford’s beginning, and it has seen weekly worship services,
memorial services, wedding ceremonies, commissioning services, and countless
other acts of worship in the fifty years since its dedication.
So much ministry has happened in that space in the past five
decades, so much growth was encouraged there, so many memories formed, such
rich heritage created. We are heirs to that foundation and legacy.
In 2012, we have the opportunity for a new beginning. That
opportunity is to ensure that the Carmichael Chapel will continue to provide
sacred and vital space at Shallowford Presbyterian Church. Building upon the
faithfulness of our founders, we can further their vision of a lively, vibrant,
strong, growing church.
As people of faith we journey forward in hope, knowing that
God goes ahead of us and prepares the way. We invite you to join us as we
